Mallow — Privacy Policy

The short version: Mallow has no accounts, no analytics, and stores your data on your device. Mallow is a gentle food & nutrition tracker.

What we store on your device

Your profile, daily targets, food/water/exercise logs, weight history, scan history, and preferences (allergens you avoid, calm mode) are saved locally on your device using the operating system's standard storage. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you clear it or delete the app.

What is sent off the device

• Barcode & name lookups. When you scan a barcode or search by name, the barcode number or search term is sent to Open Food Facts to retrieve product and nutrition information. No personal identifiers are attached.
• Photo meal logging (Mallow Plus only). If you use the AI "Snap a meal" feature, the photo you capture is sent to our analysis service solely to estimate the food's calories and protein. Photos are not stored after analysis.
• Apple Health. If you connect Apple Health, Mallow reads steps, active energy, sleep, and resting heart rate from HealthKit on your device to display them. This data is not transmitted off your device by Mallow.

What we do NOT do

• We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or contacts.
• We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.

Subscriptions

Mallow Plus is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. Payment is handled by Apple; Mallow does not receive your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings.
